PLP's Research Department publishes two important new studies - June 09

PLP has published two major empirical research studies on judicial review, both funded by the Nuffield Foundation.

The first, 'The dynamics of Judicial Review Litigation: The resolution of public law challenges before final hearing', was conducted jointly with Professor Maurice Sunkin of the University of Essex.

The second report, 'Mediation and Judicial Review' is the first study of its kind, seeking to establish an independent evidence base for identifying the value and limits of mediation as an alternative to, or used alongside, judicial review.

The reports were presented at a seminar comprising lawyers judges, academics and mediators to at the Nuffield Foundation on 1 June, with PLP's patron, Sir Henry Brooke, chairing the event.

Both reports can be downloaded as PDF documents here. Printed copies can be requested by sending an e-mail to p.powell@publiclawproject.org.uk
