How to get advice

PLP regret that we are unable to respond directly to members of the public on their case-specific queries. However, there are many ways in which we may still be able to help.

We have produced advice sheets and guides on common public law issues. These are available in the resource library section of our website here.

We may be able to take on individual cases that are referred to us by other lawyers, advisors, MPs or voluntary groups. Please see here for our current casework priorities. If we are unable to help, we may be able to signpost you to other lawyers who can.

We keep an up-to-date list of legal aid providers specialising in public law and related areas here.

We also keep a list of national coverage advice organisations, with short descriptions of the areas they give advice on, here.

Please note that all our publications, advice and case work cover the law in England and Wales only. The leaflets on this site are for information only. You should not construe information on this site as being directly applicable to your own case. You should always seek advice on your specific circumstances from a lawyer who specialises in public law.
