Using public law and the gender equality duty to challenge public body decisions
A one-day workshop on using public law and the gender equality duty to challenge public body decisions affecting the voluntary sector. The day will include:
- sessions on what public bodies get wrong and how to make them put it right;
- key questions to put to public bodies on the gender equality duty;
- case studies on recent challenges by women’s sector organizations.
The trainer is a lawyer specializing in advising voluntary sector organizations on challenging public body decision-making, including the withdrawal of funding and failures to consult.
"Very good training – has given me skills and confidence to challenge.”
"I came in completely ignorant and despite my very slow reading feel surprised at how much I was able to take in – perhaps because it had a very clear focus on how it can be useful?”
"Everything was very useful. I’ve actually got from this workshop more than I expected. Very practical, focussed and straightforward.”
"Probably the most valuable course I have been on for a long time.”
“Enjoyable and put in a way for non-legal people to understand.”
“All excellent; Louise is a brilliant trainer, very knowledgeable – delivered in a professional but fun way – approachable and funny.”
