This exceptional conference is provides both 'Who's Who' and a 'What's what' of public law and judicial review. For the 2010 programme we have introduced an 'access to justice' theme to reflect concerns in this particularly difficult period for the field. Speakers inlcude: Rt. The conference provides a wider coverage of issues than previously, with sessions on Housing Law, Welfare Benefits, the Equalities Duties, costs and funding, freedom of information and the impact of international human rights law. Phil Shiner will open the conference with a presentation on public interest litigation, Ian McDonald QC will be looking at the importance of the international legal framework to domestic litigation, and the LSC and legal Aid Practitioners group will contribute to a dabate.
Voluntary Organisations / NGO's / charities please note we have reduced the fee considerably for 'not for profits' this year.
Contributing organisations include the LSC and legal Aid Practitioners Group plus members of Garden Court North Chambers, Kings Chambers and Doughty Street Chambers.
We are now booking for this conference taking place on the 30th March at Cardiff University. It is a conference on the principles of law that givern the exercise of power by public authorities in Wales, and the mechanisms which citizens can use to challenge the decisions of those bodies.
