This practical half-day seminar will bring together expert barristers and advisers to examine the problems frequently encountered in dealing with public bodies and their methods of enforcing debt claims; tactics for dealing with these; and the public law principles of process and legality that govern public body behaviour.
The seminar will include:
- Three sessions focused on different problem areas of debt enforcement: Benefit overpayments; Council Tax; and Parking Penalties.
- Final session by a barrister specialising in public law giving the public law perspective and an overview of process and legality arguments.
The seminar is accredited for 3 CPD points.
